LAMA
"Lama" was a fourteen-day-long intervention conducted continuously over twenty-four hours at Gallery Porta Villasecas, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During this period, Ianês lived and slept precariously within the gallery space. During this time, Ianês carved the word "lama" (meaning "mud") on the wall above and adjacent to their living and sleeping area. After completing each cycle, the inscription was covered, the wall repainted, and the process repeated: the word "lama" was carved anew and then again concealed. This repetitive procedure continued until the project's conclusion, with each iteration producing new traces on the wall and within the room.
