LAMA
"Lama" was a fourteen-day intervention conducted continuously over twenty-four hours at Gallery Porta Villasecas, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During this period, the  Ianês lived and slept precariously within the gallery space. Throughout the duration, Ianês inscribed the word ”lama” (meaning "mud") on the wall adjacent to their sleeping area. After the completion of each cycle, the inscription was covered, the wall repainted, and the process was repeated: the word “lama” was carved anew, then concealed. This repetitive procedure continued until the conclusion of the project, with each iteration leaving marks on the wall and within the room.
